At her London Fashion Week on Sunday, the designer used T-shirts to highlight the plight of people made homeless around the globe due to climate change.
Models showcasing the designer's Red Label Autumn/Winter 2012 collection wore the specially-made shirts, alongside Westwood's signature silhouettes.
Sharp tailoring, a perennial Westwood feature, was seen in dresses, trousers and jackets. Long Edwardian jackets were Saville Row-inspired, whilst checks, tartans, wool and mohair stayed true to the Westwood look.
The designer said the collection always fitted into her distinctively British style, despite taking in a broad range of influences.
"What we do is always British, even if we're inspired by Africa or the North Pole or whatever and so you've got these really fantastic clothes," she said.
"Very, very flattering and very lively because they've got all this influence from other places but they still look British.
"It's just a way of putting things together and it's a certain don't care attitude about clothes."
