“Avril is a pop music icon, but she has also become a fashion inspiration, known worldwide for her edgy, yet feminine style,” said Steve Mormoris, senior vice president of global marketing for Coty Beauty. “We believe this new collection will appeal to Avril fans and trendsetters alike.” Added Annette Devita, vice president of marketing for Sally Hansen: “She appeals to a younger generation of girls, which makes her a perfect fit for Salon Effects.” The line will launch globally in April.
Jimmy Choo took its collection south — metaphorically speaking — for its campaign inspired by the sensual Mediterranean glamour of Anouk Aimée in the 1969 film “Justine.” Shot by Terry Richardson on the grounds of a neoclassical estate outside New York City, the campaign features Magdalena Frackowiak and Jamie Bochert as rivals, swanning past white columns and crumbling statues — and fighting over a handbag. The campaign broke in the February issues of titles such as American Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle.
